What we're building

Open weights for products.

Open Product is a public library of how real products get made. One OPD per product: the parts, the BOM, the assembly, the full line, and what goes wrong. You'll be able to read one, fork it, correct it, or publish your own.

01 · Where it stands

One product at a time

  1. Oct 2026

The OPD format reaches version 0.3. Every value carries its source and how far to trust it.

  2. Now

OPD-0001, the Joy-Con. Built from retail units, CT scans and teardowns.

  3. Now

Our own product, in the open: Plus One, an open agent puck in design. Its parts, its line and its risks, all as targets until the first build. See the product.

  4. Now

Accounts are open. Sign up, pick a handle and start uploading. Everything stays private until a person reviews it.

  5. Dec 2026

    The first public release.

02 · Accounts

What you can do

  • Make an account and pick a handle. Your work lives at openproduct.co/you.
  • Start an OPD and upload its files. CAD, BOM, photos, test data. Whole folders at once.
  • Keep it private while you work. Every OPD starts that way.
  • Publish when it's ready. A person reviews every OPD before it goes public.
  • Coming next: fork someone else's OPD, or correct a value. The maker gets a right of reply.

03 · The lines we hold

What an OPD never holds

  • Firmware. Ever.
  • Customer data, or anything under NDA.
  • A guess dressed up as a measurement. Inferred values are marked in red.
  • A surprise for the maker. They see it before anyone else does.

And nothing you upload is ever run on our servers.
